  • Awakenings (1990) - I was surprised at how much I liked this. I'm not really a huge Robin Williams fan, but this was good. The campus theater was showing it because Oliver Sacks came to the school to speak. I think being familiar with Sacks' work made the movie even more enjoyable, but I know I would have liked it anyway.
  • Seabiscuit (2003) - I really don't know what I missed in this movie because the paper said it started at 10:50, but when we got to the theater they said it had started at 10:40. So, while I got most of the plot, I was irritated and a little confused in the beginning. What I saw was decent, though, except William H. Macy. He was awesome.
  • What a Girl Wants (2003) - Well, my August is off to quite the bad teenage girl movie start, isn't it? Predictable and cheesy, but not too bad for a rainy day when you don't feel like watching daytime tv!
  • How To Deal (2003) - How many bad things can happen to a person? It was the worst movie I've seen in a while. And why would Liz Phair have a song on the soundtrack to a Mandy Moore movie? Depressing...
