Smashing Pumpkins have to be one of the greatest bands ever, billy corgan has a great unique voice and his lyrics are great, the way they touch you. Him and the pumpkins dont get enough recognition and credit for there work. Nirvana, i mean, wat more can i say about them. Radiohead is another great band that dosnt get enough recognition, listin to some of the guitar riffs in there songs, paranoid android is a great song, i learnt to play the guitar just to learn that song. The rest can speak for themselves, oh and being an aussie and growing up near where the silverchair guys and from, i had to add silverchair.

Great choice with the Pumpkins! For me it's between them, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead and Tool. Rage are quality and I see you have 'em in 4th there. Another excellent decision with U2 high up, their 90's stuff is bizarrely underrated and was the decade where they actually showed they were truly one of the world's best bands - as opposed to being just one of the biggest.
Soundgarden are another tremendous act and just outside my top 4. Superb musicians and surprisingly innovative, on the first few listens they sound like a good quality, straight-up hard rock band. But they're a lot more subtle than they first appear. Good list!
