i downloaded these songs from UNLIMITEDDOWNLOADCENTER its the no1 site to download songs click the link if you want to check it out.

led zeppelin only one vote we must be having a laugh they were way more talented than the beatles and the pixies no votes just goes to show they havent gained the recognition they deserve im currently addicted to them and cant get enough their songs are more up beat and catchy than the beatles were which is refreshing in the melancholy music world that weve been living in(not include arctic monkeys) i think its the reason the beatles were so successful people will happily pay to be cheered up who wants to feel miserable

I just want to say this...if you're going for a more definitive poll, as in THE GREATEST ARTISTS or what have you, I feel these should be the picks you should keep that you already have:

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, David Bowie, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, The Velvet Underground, Joy Division, Pixies, The Smiths, U2, REM, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Nirvana, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Elvis Presley.

I think The Beach Boys, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Elton John, Madonna and Metallica are all questionable, but the rest are undeserving of such stature.

Oh yea, first tier would definitely include The Beach Boys and The Ramones

Wow. What a list. Please let me start.

I love just about every band you put up there, with a couple of exceptions. I actually took a little bit of time on this one, I decided to narrow it down to a couple.

My first picks were between the Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, U2, Police, Elton John, and of course, Elvis. This wasn't based on personal taste, though I really enjoy the work of all the said above. These artists just rose high above the others, it felt like most of the bands up there could've fallen out.

It took me a moment, but I voted for Elton John, the Greatest Recording Artist of all time. And I'm sure the Grammy's would agree with me :D.

BTW; I'd give them a couple years, but once the Pixies are gone, everyone will really find out what they've been missing all this time. They are easily a top-tier recording artist.

I agree with many possible add-ons, like AfterHours said, but only a couple of the very high calibur artists that he mentioned. Namely, Springsteen and Dr. Dre (who is, btw, the best Producer of all time). And where are the Eagles?

Based on the name of your post I would personally take quite a bit out that you have there, especially Take That. But it's your list so you can put whatever you want. In any case I would add, no matter what:

Van Morrison, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Elvis Costello, The Clash, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, R.E.M, Brian Eno, Nick Drake, Public Enemy, Sly & The Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson, The Smiths, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, Otis Redding, Bruce Springsteen, The Talking Heads, The Who, Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, The Band, Can, Kraftwerk, Talk Talk, Eminem, Jay Z, The Beastie Boys, Pavement, Herbie Hancock,

I'm sure I'll think of more...

Considering who you already have on there you could add an almost endless assortment of artists, at least a thousand more. The ones who are in a sort of secondary tier of greatness which I would add based on whats already there are:

Prince, Neutral Milk Hotel, Wilco, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits, The Flaming Lips, Patti Smith, Television, Fleetwood Mac, Massive Attack, PJ Harvey, Bright Eyes, The Sex Pistols, T-Rex, The White Stripes, The Arcade Fire, Adam Again, Mark Heard, Will Oldham/Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Belle & Sebastian, Funkadelic, Slint, Neu, Buzzcocks, Animal Collective, Sufjan Stevens, Outkast, De La Soul, N.W.A, Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumplins, Beck, Glenn Branca, Daft Punk, Devandra Banhardt, DJ Shadow, A Tribe Called Quest, Dr Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, The Righteous Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, Bjork, Sigur Ros, The Strokes,

I'll let you know if I think of more. That's certainly a promising start though.
