Films I Watched - March, 2010

  • 3/9 - Goodfellas (1990) - You hardly notice this film is well over two hours long, so fast it tears by. Starting in the late 50s and ending up in 1980, this covers the life of Ray Liotta's Henry Hill, a lifetime gangster in New York. Joe Pesci owes most of his career to this film, Paul Sorvino soars, and Robert De Niro is perfectly cast in a role smaller than usual. Scorsese is one of the best directors in cinematic history, and this epic story of the rise and fall of one hood is one of his best. ****

  • 3/14 - The Other Boleyn Girl (2008) - Wow, what a waste of an interesting cast and great historical material. The first half is boring and uninvolved; the second blazes by quickly enough to keep all elements from taking any hold on the audience. * 1/2
