Places I've done one or both since moving here May 2006, in a sort of vague chronological order.

I must say Darrell's is one of my favourites. I was actually planning on lunching there Thursday but my plans didn't work out. Was Talay Thai any good, I didn't realize that it existed. Thai food is probably my second favourite ethnic food just after Indian (what can I say, I love a good curry). If you like Thai I would recommend Baan Thai on Dresden Row, best restaurant I have been to in Halifax since Chicken Tandoor closed.
Talay Thai is great - I've been twice, and have plans to go again soon-ish. It was my first and so far only experience with Thai food.
Darrell's is great and conveniently located in my general vicinity. I like the turkey cran croissant... so good. My grandfather had a go at the peanut butter burger... I'm still scared of that.
This is good to see. I'm likely moving to Halifax next year, and it's nice to know there are decent places to eat there.
How is it for things to do in general, BTW?
There's no shortage of places to eat, that is for sure. For every restaurant I have been to, there's probably 2-3 I haven't. There are restaurants on my block I haven't tried yet!
thecoast.ca has event listings, I find there's plenty to keep busy. Summers are best with the assorted festivals. I think if you have an open mind you'll rarely be bored.
