Most Acidic Traxx

Tags:
  • This topic is strictly for acidheads like me ;p though if you're willing to brave high frequencies and sounds that send you off into deep space, you are welcome to try these tracks out =] Tracks are added to this list only if they contain enough acid. For example while Red Herring maybe great Acid Trance, it won't make this list.

  • For a complete audio-visual experience I recommend...
  • -Installing Winamp (which is great for playing music and managing your files, better than WMP for sure).
  • -It should come with a plugin called Milkdrop. Open Winamp, hit "Ctrl+P" and check under Plugins->Visualisation. Then in the right pane, click on Milkdrop to select it.
  • -Now download these delicious, spacey presets.
  • -Delete all the presets in C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\Milkdrop2\presets and instead put these in there.
  • -Open Winamp and start up the Visualisation using "Ctrl+Shift+K". "Spacebar" is to change the preset, and "L" displays the full list of presets to choose from.
  • -Enjoy the gorgeous, stunning visuals =))

  • If you like the tracks here, then you might like my mix of the trippiest Goa tracks, real journey ones. Find it here.

  • Art of Trance - Madagascar (Trance)
  • Bamboo Forest - Sadhu (Goa)
  • Cosmosis - Gift of the Gods (Goa)
  • Chemical Brothers - Believe (Breaks)
  • The acid only peaks towards the end, maybe there is a mix that focuses on the acid more.
  • Darshan - Speed Freak (Dark Goa)
  • This is you usual darkpsy track but the middle of this track has some amazing acid.
  • Doof - Double Dragons (Goa)
  • Doran vs Joshua Ryan - Unreal
  • Fatboy Slim - Acid 8000 (Breaks)
  • GMS - Juice (Full-on Psy)
  • Hardfloor - Acperience 1 (Trance)
  • The essential hard acid trance track for many.
  • Hallucinogen - Space Pussy (Goa/Psy)
  • Josh Wink - Higher State of Consciousness (Tweekin' Acid Mix or Original) (Breaks)
  • Taking that acid to stratospheric frequencies!
  • Kopfuss Resonator and DJ Jörg - Whipbird (Goa)
  • Mama Indica - Radioactive Rain (Hard Acid Goa)
  • Misjah & Groovehead - Trippin' Out (Rave-ish Trance)
  • Moonweed - Telepath (Trance)
  • MWNN presents Yogi and Grey One - Big Trouble in Outer Space (Dark Goa)
  • Best acidic dark goa track.
  • Phuture - Acid Trax
  • Plastikman - Plasticine (Minimal Techno)
  • Pump Panel - Confusion (Techno)
  • Razor's Edge - Exquisite Sin (Exquisite Acid Mix) (Trance)
  • Solar Quest - Acidophilez album (HARD Acid Trance)
  • The entire album is good acid trance, but Acid Air Raid (George's All Nighter Mix) will blow your mind, it blew mine for sure.
  • Space Tribe vs Electric Universe - Rabbit Hole (Full-on Psy)
  • Plus every single track on Thru the Looking Glass , get it!!
  • Spicelab - A Day on Our Planet (Trance)
  • Stakker - Stakker Humanoid (House)
  • Trilithon - Trance Dance (Goa)
  • I was listening to this on the Milkdrop preset Rovostar - Tripmaker (Space Trip Mix) and man, was it trippy!
  • Tufaan - Probe (Green Nuns of the Revolution remix) (Goa)
  • Uberzone - The Brain (Braindusted) (Acid Breaks)
  • Zodiac Youth - Fast Forward the Future (Voodoo People Mix) (Goa)
  • Make sure you get this mix, the Hallucinogen mix has a lot less acid.

  • Various - Psychedelic Goa Core Vol. 1 (Goa Trance)
  • A mixed compilation that completely and totally lives up to its name, delivering a strong punch of twisted, acidic, spaced out Goa Trance. The follow up Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 are pretty good too.

  • Honourable Mentions

  • Dr. Octopus - Dr. Octopus (Trance)
  • This track gives a real feeling of speed, if it had only been done a little better and the acid been brought in earlier.
  • Robbie Long and AMS - Acid Bath (Hardcore)
  • This is hardcore but it has this absolutely beautiful breakdown.
  • C.P.U. - Acid Attack
  • Had the artist injected some variation and pushed a little harder this track would have been pretty good.
  • D.I.D. - Alcyone (Trance)

  • All suggestions from fellow acidheadz are welcome. I'll be adding more to this list as I remember the tracks. For more acid try Lyceaum's Best Acid Trance List too.

Phuture - Acid Trax
Cygnus X - Hypermetrical
Paul Glazby & The Narcomanics - Acid Disco (D.A.V.E The Drummer Remix) (Havent heard the original though)
The Olmecheads - Magic Man
Doran vs. Joshua Ryan - Unreal
Quench - Dreams
Prana - Geomantik
Misjah & Groovehead - Trippin' Out
Robbie Long & AMS - Acid Bath
Marino Stephano - Vision Contol (just a personal favourite there!)
Voodoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumping (Just joking!!!)

Feel free to shoot them down....you will have a much better idea of what makes a good acid track!

Also, I purposly didnt put the ones on Lyceaum's list on....

You're absolutely right about Acid Trax and Trippin' Out. I should've added Acid Trax before. Trippin' Out was a nice trippy, acid-ravey track =]

I'll be giving Geomantik, Magic Man, Acid Disco, Unreal, Acid Bath and Vision Control repeat listens. They are all pretty good, but some of them are more of the mindless acid variety than the hard but rhythmic stuff I'm looking for. Thats why this list has no acid-core on it.

For me, Dreams, though very trippy, falls somewhere between acid and classic trance, so I won't be adding it.

Btw, if you feel something on Lyceaum's lists should be on this one, then let me know :) because I haven't checked out everything on her lists.

Glad you liked them. Acid Trax just makes me melt. I have never been on acid but my god that track must be bloody close to what its like! :-D

I dont expect some of those tracks i said have enough of a dominant acid layer to make them on the list. Vision Control for example is just a personal favourite, I just like that acid layer that efforlessly runs through the track....a bit like Paul Van Dyk's Remix of Age Of Love which is similar. A lot of people forget it (understandably) becasue of the Jam & Spoon mix. You might like it for a bit of a lighter "acid" track....?

From what i have d/loaded based on Lyceaum's list, these two fit the description of what you are after i think....

Ab-Chic (Acrid Abeyance Remix) - Nexus 6

Starts off pretty tamely, but some how manages to get you completely hooked becasue before you know it there is acid flying all round the place!

Ego Acid - Pump Pannel

Ab-Chic and Ego Acid are too repetitive and tech-ish for my taste. Also, while they must have been great in the 90s, imo they haven't aged that well. The acid sounds a little worn.

Thru the lookin glass is an amazing album!

That album makes me wanna scream "AASSEEEIIDDDD!!!" The opener, "R U Normal" has such amazing acid omg! Try out the "Acidophilez" album too if you haven't :)

I haven't heard most of these tracks since I'm not that into goa, but I'll have to have a listen to some of them, esp. that Misjah and Groovehead track.

I just downloaded Misjah and Groovehead's remix of Drax II - Amphetamine. It's pretty crazy! You should check it out.

Its great acid techno :) though I found the taking of the pitch lower, then higher, then lower a little too reminiscent of ... dream trance?

This list is a little "shifted" from your taste in acid, more towards the rhythmic side, and not so much the repetitive, drilling-into-your-head kind of acid.

I think you'll like Sadhu, some parts of Gift of the Gods, and Radioactive Rain, the last one especially.

My favorite acid traxx (that are not on list and not mentioned already):
Choice - Acid Eiffel (Ambient Techno)
L.S.G. - Hearts (Trance)
Plastikman - Plasticine (Minimal Techno)
Plastikman - Plasticity (Minimal Techno)

Now I'm gonna treat myself to finding the songs you have on the list I don't have :D

Let acid course through your veins =P I really hope you like the tracks here.

Plasticine! Great suggestion! I'm not sure about Plasticity though, because Plasticine and Plasticity sound rather similar to my ears. Acid Eiffel I dislike, its a little too repetitive and minimal, so I don't find it trippy. Hearts needs a few listens, its good stuff.

Good list. You've got all the crucial classics as far as I can tell.

Maybe consider Pump Panel's "Confusion."

Its a great track :) Starts off a little repetitive, then the acid really starts rolling in huge waves! I assume you're referring to the "Reconstruction Mix" or another mix?

Awesome, I'm going to be doing quite a bit of downloading. Of the ones I've heard, I very much agree.

Try this:
Hardfloor - Da Revival (Llorca & Duriez MDLM Mix)
[Might be the same as the Les Maçons De La Musique Mix. I also like the original. Not sure which I like more.]

Speaking of Hardfloor, while I don't feel it's very acidic, the following song is cool:
Hardfloor - T 2 Da C (Dexter Mix)

I heard both, the original of "Da Revival" is a fun, acid house tune (to me). The Llorca & Duriez remix is harder definitely, but not driving. They're nice tracks but more funk/dance oriented than hard, trippy tracks with a rush.

The original mix of T 2 Da C went down better than the Dexter mix. It had this subdued, undercurrent-of-acid smooth feel.

I just noticed your bit on visualizations at the top. Give these fractal animations a try:
http://www.fractal-recursions.com/files/anim/anim.html

Art of Trance - Madagascar (Original Mix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXFwOjm0_MU
Psilocybin - Delicate Substance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=178ou4nnU7k [there is a slower 10:02 version too]
Spicelab - A Day On Our Planet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vHVavqnl7E
Psychobabble - Inverted Forces
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYjyB4716lQ

I love fractals. Thanks a lot for the link, those files are rather large, I'll d/l some other the weekend.

Art of Trance - Madagascar (Original Mix)
Some really nice acid in there, I thought the sounds were very innovative, cheerful but nowhere near cheesy. I wish it had a harder kick and some bass though. Added :)

Psilocybin - Delicate Substance
I didn't really like this so much, it was okay...

Spicelab - A Day On Our Planet
Added! great build, the journey kind of track.

Psychobabble - Inverted Forces
Beautiful warm track, but I'm looking for more driving stuff. Still I'd consider this for the greatest trance tracks list. Oh yeah I love the image of the TB 303 =p

Just to make sure... you do know that link for A Day On Our Planet is not the entire song. Glad you enjoyed.

While I doubt these would qualify for the list, I nonetheless would think you would like these:
Resistance D - Cosmic Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jQP3BSzaFs

Spicelab - The Spirit of Fear
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFNf0AqwTSQ

BTW, do you have a soulseek account? I'm sometimes on as "Trinithis" (note the capital T).

I already had A Day on Our Planet, just hadn't given it a full listen. Cosmic Love is a good track, its on my greatest trance tracks list. I liked the beginning of The Spirit of Fear, great atmosphere, but then the same rhythms repeated for the rest of the track so it put me off a bit.

Check your Soulseek :) My username is the same too.
