The Most Overrated Rock Albums according to me
1- Captain Beefheart Trout Mask Replica.
I listened to it, and my ears still haven't forgiven me.
2- The Red Crayola Parable of Arable Land
3- Bob Dylan Blonde On Blonde
Someone explain why most of the album is filler with God-awful vocals can be be considered a masterpiece.
4- Queen "A Night At The Opera". Was ready to enjoy all the production, epic songs, etc. Nothing worked for me. Aside from "Bohemian Rhapsody" it all sounded horrible.
5- Meat Loaf 'Bat Out Of Hell' JUST HORRID STUFF
6- Dave Matthews Band's Stand Up. Possibly the most embarrassingly bad album I've ever heard.
7- The Beach Boys Pet Sounds. The real Beach Boys are not playing on the record. The album relies too much on arrangements rather than actual studio experimentation. There is only two or three classic songs on the whole album
8- U2 The Joshua Tree. I don't know why I can not stand this record
9- The Velvet Underground & Nico. I know it's supposed to be a classic- I just don't get it. Unmusical and too-hip-for-thou. Nico's icy voice is effective, but flat as hell. Also Lou Reed is also is flat as well. The four-on-the-floor, pound-pound-pound-pound Mo Tucker drumming obviously influenced a lot of today's indie stuff. Which I don't like either.
10- Nirvana Nevermind. I know they were suppose to popularize grunge but they were suppose to be a mix of Black Sabbath and the Beatles. Sorry they fall way short.

An obvious reply to Afterhours Most Overrated albums list.
