Pimping out my workshop
I am recovering from heart surgery. I started cooking again, since my prescribed diet, practically, does not allow prepared processed foods anymore. I do not mind. I look and feel great. But my house is a mess. Why? it is filled with ideas and parts. But I started to do some projects, of which I will begin to list. Starting with a recent list, then as I complete them. Midway through a bunch of them, I longed for a place. I have a substantially underutilized basement with a built in workbench already.
Hmm. So I cleaned it off, and started organizing. I organized my Idea-parts into bins, labled the bins, I started moving things downstairs to complete. And magically, I am not only completing them, but my house is getting "culled" of clutter. I am not an ordinary person, and I will not have an ordinary workshop. I want it to be a cross between Santa's workshop and peewee's playhouse. I am off to a good start. I already have festive lights hanging in the bench area. Cable TV, Stereo, 2 phones. My house already has wireless internet, so I drag my laptop down there as needed. I am custom making my own freeform pegboard. I am not going to list a bunch of "going2s" as plans change. But I have a lot of going2s. Early on I focused on lamp making and repair.
- I repaired 2 lamps,
- made 3 (2 of which will be added to a 4th (2nd???) It will be a chandalier of home made lamps.
- I have numerous other lamp projects to complete, as well as some to start.
- I have offered to make some friends a fabulous kitchen chandalier.
My wishlist for the shop is;
- a router
- a shop vac
- a circular saw
- power screwdriver
- the hard case tool kit from Harbor Freight Tools
- Not too much.
- I'll be decorating continually
