Digital Cable and DVR

I have heard about the TiVo revolution. I had no idea how it would affect me until I got a DVR when I got digital cable. With the sheer number of repeats and channels with digital cable, I can set to record about any show. It may take a while for it to be repeated, but there are very few "ultimate conflicts" meaning, 2 shows I wish to record that air only once, and at the same time. This problem currently exists only with network offerings. And the next upgrade on the machine will fix that. It is not unusual for me to browse my menu for shows, I think I may watch. Sure enough, I may find them on BBCa or one of the Encore groups. If there is a conflict, not only are they usually repeated later int he day or week, but there may be both east and west coast feeds for the channel - which gives me a 3 hour delay window.

I never thought I would approach the 40 hour memory. But I am almost always teetering at 55%-82%. I have my delete options set to record over TV is space is needed, unless its something very important to me - like Alias. Which may end up getting a whole Genre topic of its own, once the new season starts.
