i my view a low score for "The Deer Hunter"
Why so low?
It was a pretty long movie, but felt longer. After an hour the only thing I remember happening was a wedding. And while the performances were terrific, I didn't really think the story was all that engaging.
Also, one thing that hurt its rating was entirely my fault. I didn't have time to watch it all in one sitting, so I ended up catching the last hour a couple of days after starting it. Something like that can't help but ruin the pacing.
Only one star for the movie Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ? I'd call it a three-star Human Rights Violation... thank god the 70s are over.
