Alfred Hitchcock's Cinema--Vote For Your Favorite Work

If possible, post a reason why your chosen film speaks to you so.

I chose Rear Window because it was the first Hitchcock I ever saw. I was 12 and it blew my mind. I still prefer it to any of his other films because of incidental stories about the making of the film. Such as, That set was built in a soundstage. The set designers built a forty foot set, half of which was below the original floor of the soundstage. The lighting mimics times of day and the main characters apartments were fully furnished. And Rear Window has my favorite group of actors he ever employed. It's just so damn good.

Only ONE!! That's unfair. Top three at least. But at least this way I really had to choose: the "if I could save only one from a burning building" trip. ... It would be Vertigo, despite the goofy short bit of special effects and the "moral" ending. What a perfect combination of mystery, sexuality, and character. ... And if I could save two, I'd also grab Notorious.

I haven't seen all of these, not even most of them, but I picked my favorite from the ones I have seen.
