Author Comments:
Just a note, this list doesn't feature any compilations or soundtracks, and will undoubtedly be in a state of constant shifting.

Wow, cool list. I'm only going to address the main entry that hit me like a sack of bricks: Moldy Peaches! It's so different from so many of the surroundings, it fragments into all of these recommendations. First, I'm surprised that Velvet Underground s/t isn't on here just because Moe's song "After Hours" is totally proto-Kimya. Then I think Moldy Peaches --> Sidewalk Cafe --> Anti-Folk --> Violent Femmes, who don't sound that much like the Moldy Peaches but are definitely great, you should check them out. Random others leap to mind: Young Marble Giants, Holy Modal Rounders, Mayo Thompson, Syd Barrett. None of these really sound like Moldy Peaches, of course, but they just seem like a springboard into so much other stuff!
Is "Six" the only Soft Machine on here? You have to try their first two albums at some point. Canterbury is another slippery slope into lots and lots of forgotten bands, but Soft Machine was probably the best.
Love your list, man. Gonna have to get on the stuff I don't know. My list is around my music section content but a total work in progress. :)
