- My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
- Should I leave them by your gate,
- Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?
- i have two ideas of what the line “My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums” means: (1), and the other is (2)Spoiler: Highlight to viewliterally, his warehouse eyes are his “sunglasses” which is a metaphor for fame/mystique/image, and the Arabian drums in this scenario constitute his music career—both of which he is offering his Sad-Eyed LadySpoiler: Highlight to viewa deeper metaphor about his heart (Arabian drums) and soul (his warehouse eyes—eyes have been a continuous metaphor for the soul for humans). In either case he is offering up his entire world to this lady (“should I leave them by your gate”) regardless of whether or not she will accept him (“should I wait?”)
