I'm glad to hear that you're bringing the show back; I'm getting sick and tired of listening to NPR.

I wouldn't mind an "all psychedelic rock" show - something along the lines of Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, 13th Floor Elevators, Red Krayola, The Fugs, Gong, Taj Mahal Travellers, Tangerine Dream, etc.

cool, i will look for some obscure tracks by those bands and try to intertwine tracks you may know in an interesting way. probably next week since i would have to find everything from scratch rather than just searching my hard drive. i will let you know if it will take longer.

Good show, Feif. I've got some new artists to check out.

thanks. what psychedelic albums/musicians do you not own or have never heard, or better, what do you own? i do not just want to retread what is in your CD player, though a little of that may happen. if you tell me what you do own i could probably better come up with artists (like Comus) which you may have never heard, and you also would not have thought about occluding from a list of unknowns.

I've got some Pink Floyd, Gong, Jefferson Airplane, and Red Krayola of course. You certainly don't have to play any of the artists I listed above. I'd actually be much more interested listening something entirely new, so feel free to play you whatever you want.

let me know if you have heard of anything i listed for this week. if so, that may make it easier to cut portions out of the show to trim it down to a 2 hour show.

Was the show canceled today?

yeah, i "HAD" to go to work right after class, so i have no idea what was played nor do i know who could have played it - it was probably a prerecorded CD for the station to play during off hours or when someone does not do their show like me. of course, in hindsight, i did not have to go to work WHEN i did, i could have showed up at 4:30, which was when i planned to show.

It didn't sound like your show. I enjoyed it, but it was totally different from the last time I listened in. It was mostly a Hipster mix, whatever that is. Hip new music mostly folk/pop. Too bad I missed the Peel Slowly & See version of White Light. Anyhow, hope you have a good week Feif.

that type of music is the backbone of the station - here is a list of albums that i was offered to review for the station's album blog:
Black Lips "200 Million Thousand", Comet Gain "Broken Record Players", Crystal Antlers "Tentacles", Doves "Kingdom of Rust", Gliss "Devotion Implosion", Harlem Shakes "Technicolor Health", Silversun Pickups "Swoon", King Khan and The Shrines "What Is?!", Metric "Fantasies", MSTRKRFT "Fist of God", Mt. St. Helen's Vietnam Band "Self-Titled", Obits "I Blame You", Handsome Furs "Face Control", Chester French "Love The Future", Peter Bjorn and John "Living Thing", Pomegranates "Everybody, Come Outside!", Crocodiles "Summer of Hate", Say Hi "Oohs and Ahs", Starfucker "Jupiter", Swan Lake "Enemy Mine", Telekinesis "Telekinesis", The Antlers "Hospice", The Bicycles "Oh No, It's Love", Art Brut "Art Brut vs. Satan", The Boy Least Likely To "The Law of the Playground", The Decemberists "Hazards of Love", The Soft Pack "The Muslims EP", The Thermals "Now We Can See", White Rabbits "It's Frightening", Yeah Yeah Yeahs "It's Blitz!", Bishop Allen "Grrr...", Thunderheist "Thunderheist", Black Dice "Repo", Cryptacize "Mythomania", Patrick Watson "Wooden Arms", I Was A King "I Was A King", Years "Years”, Junior Boys "Begone Dull Care", Little Brazil "Son", O + S "O + S", Violens "V", The Whitest Boy Alive "Rules", Condo Fucks "Fuckbook" (album titles in quotes).
i have not tracked them all down, but the ones that i have are mostly hipster folk/pop/rock music; the best of the lot may end up being 200 Million Thousand, which is the one i will probably review.

the music director wants to feature NEW music, which i do not blame, and these are the albums currently released. i will, in due time, try to have the station feature the new Ant-Bee album that hopefully comes out this summer, and the new Shit & Shine album.

my week? no, i have been on the brink of sickness, but i think it is passing - here's to next week, and all of your (and everyone's) weeks to come! :^)

and since you are trying to listen, you can request music to be played on the air, the show is for YOU.
