I too like Forrest Gump, but what holds it back from being on my top 10 favorites is the fact that the movie isn't very realistic. I mean, what happened with him would most likely never happen. I have never heard of a story like that in my life. I still view it as a phenomenal movie, Tom Hanks and the rest of the cast did a marvelous job, but it isn't realistic enough...at least to me.
Yeah, it's certainly not in my top 10 either, but it would probably be in my top 50.
I can agree with that statement.
You might want to take a flyer and give Toy Story a viewing. Tom Hanks turns in an unbelievably realistic performance as Sheriff Woody. The entire cast does an incredible job delivering genuine performances in a wide variety of roles. (The notable exception is Jim Varney who nearly ruins the movie. His laughable take on a Slinky Dog stretches credulity.) You've probably heard the story before, it's a classic buddy movie, but the narrative is pulled along by a string of jokes and sight gags which are fantastic in spite of being improbable.
I'll make sure to give it another showing. I watched it when I was but a young child and remember enjoying it, but it would be nice to watch it again. Thanks for the tip! =D
I also did not know that Tom Hanks was even in that film O.O! Learn something new everyday.
Yeah, Toy Story's still amazing to this day. Definitely one of my favorite animated films ever.
Very nice list! Reminds me I need to watch The Sandlot - haven't seen it in over 10 years!
Thanks! Yeah, it's been a while since I last watched The Sandlot, so I might need to revisit that one, too. It's just one of those childhood faves.
