ZMAR1. Dueling Horror Marathons 2004
Well it looks like we have competing Horror Marathons this year in Columbus, Ohio. I've been to the last two years of marathons that were held at the Studio 35 theater. Apparently this year the owners of Studio 35 (Matt and Damon) excluded the previous organizer of the marathons (Joe Neff) from the process and decided to branch out on their own. Now, Joe announced in the last week or so that he is running his own marathon the same night as the Studio 35 marathon. The marathons of the last 2 years have been 24 hours long but this years 'thons are going to be substantially shorter, about 14 hours. The decision to shorten the Studio 35 marathon was made because it conflicted with the showing of the Ohio State football game at the theater and I'm guessing that Joe's impromptu marathon just didn't have enough time to program 24 hours worth of films. For what its worth I know Joe slightly and I think he is a very stand-up guy and much more of a horror film buff than Matt and Damon. This is clearly evidenced by the line up that he has for his marathon. If I had a choice (I'm still deciding whether to go or not) I would choose Joe's marathon over the Studio 35 marathon. If you are at all interested in attending a horror marathon I highly recommend it! Anyway on to Joe's announcement...

Mmmm, Halloween in central Ohio is great (I grew up in Newark). This sounds like a ton of fun, how long have they been doing this?
Well, this is the first year of the marathon at the Drexel theatre and the Studio 35 marathon is probably in its 4th year.
Jim, as I type this the Front Page says that this list has 0 comments. Yet, there is already 1 comment (by Imposter) and adding this comment will make 2.
After Imposter's comment and my comment, totalling two comments, it still says 0 comment. Could this have to do with the fact I created the new entry using the Teaser section?
It's probably because of that thing I "fixed" before. The teaser is separate from the list. The list has three comments, but the teaser (the thing on the home page) has none. So it should be looking at the underlying article to show how many comments there are. I'll add it to the list...
