Spore does look fascinating, but I'm cautious as to whether it will get repetitive (Like the Sims did) even though the basic idea is one of so many possibilities.

I know this is an odd question but are you male or female?

Male. Urm...why? Something to do with playing the Sims?

Because I have a theory the The Sims are the modern-day grown up equivalent of playing dolls. The only people I know who still groove on The Sims after playing it for awhile are women. I think most men who are initially intrigued by the concept and/or game play grow bored of it after awhile.

Yes, hence why I said it gets a bit repetitive and monotonous. Out of all the games on your list that I've played, I recommend COD4:Modern Warfare the most, it's incredibly fun and realistic, with a great campaign and multiplayer option.

Yep. But I couldn't confirm my theory until I knew your gender. I've noticed a lot of my female friends use it to act out the things they want in their own life. For example, I have a friend who I know wants to have kid(s). Prior to marriage she gave me the impression her husband-to-be was open to it. Now that they are married he has put the kibosh on the entire thing. If I was her I'd probably put the kibosh on the marriage but that aside her Sims, named after her and her husband, do have kids. I think it's sort of creepy.

Call of Duty 4 is probably in the top 10 of the games I want to check out. Unfortunately money is tight right now and I typically wait until games drop down into the $20 range before picking them up.

I know that you and Rushmore were talking about playing on your consoles. Do you have a gaming PC that's up to snuff? If so, do you have an account on Steam? That's the platform I buy most of my games through. If so, have you played Portal yet? I highly recommend it.

Even Jim, our fearless leader, would like it. :-)

CoD4 is a must, and I was lucky enough to get it for Xmas so I didn't pay for it, but if I didn't I would have saved as I am an avid fan of the series.

My Pc is terrible, and extremely slow (due to the amount of crap on it), but I do have Steam, and I once was dangerously addicted to Counter Strike: Source. Half Life 2 was fun, but CSS was incomparable (was because of CoD4 which equals if not surpasses it.) I have not played portal, it would probably kill my pc, is it on 360?

I suppose that theory does have some grounding, do you know if EA have specifically commented on anything like this? Would be interested to find out

a recommendation, the civilization series.

oh sorry, i see its there.
