By incredible I don't necessarily the actors themselves are incredible or their performance in this particular movie was incredible. I just mean it's incredible how many 'name' actors were assembled for one movie. Typically this happens when many of todays good actors are showing up in their early movie roles.

How 'bout Silverado?
Good call, Jim!
What about my all-time favourite movie,
The Outsiders (click here for the film review on Amazon)
The three main characters:
C. Thomas Howell
Matt Dillon
Ralph Macchio
Supported by:
Tom Cruise
Patrick Swayze
Rob Lowe
Emilio Estevez
Tom Waits
S.E. Hinton (cameo role - she wrote the book)
It also has THE best ever movie song by Stevie Wonder ("Gold").
Director: Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather).
The photography is also fabulous - it looks great.
Sounds good to me.
I'm really surprised not to find Glengarry Glen Ross on here - Pacino, Lemmon, Harris, Arkin, Pryce, and Arkin, not to mention Alec Baldwin's best scene ever.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
That second Arkin was supposed to be Kevin Spacey. Sorry; my mind, sadly, does not think nearly as fast as my finger can type!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
What about Short Cuts?
Thanks, J! The more the merrier. :-)
how about cradle will rock? i was surprised to learn recently that the boys from tenacious d (jack black and kyle gass) play bill murray's idiot ventriloquist students. now i'd like a rewatch!
Thanks, Taryn!!!
How 'bout The Royal Tenenbaums?
Though it's not a great movie (although it is kinda fun), I'd suggest "Demolition Man." It has Sylvester Stallone, Sandra Bullock, Denis Leary, Wesley Snipes, Nigel Hawthorne, Benjamin Bratt, Bob Gunton, Andre Gregory, and, in small roles, Jack Black, Jesse Ventura, and Rob Schneider.
Your suggestion has been noted.
Here's a cast that I always found pretty amazing:
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
Spencer Tracy, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Buddy Hackett, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Dick Shawn, Phil Silvers, Terry-Thomas, Jonathan Winters, Edie Adams, Jim Backus, William Demarest, Peter Falk, Stan Freberg, Leo Gorcey, Sterling Holloway, Edward Everett Horton, Buster Keaton, Don Knotts, Carl Reiner, Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Joe DeRita, Jimmy Durante, Jerry Lewis, Jack Benny.
I'm currently taking a break from the 3.5-hour-long "JFK" (1991) and I couldn't help but think of this list. "JFK" really belongs on here. What an amazing cast:
Ed Asner, Kevin Bacon, John Candy, Kevin Costner, Vincent D'Onofrio, Brian Doyle-Murray, Tommy Lee Jones, Jack Lemmon, Wayne Knight, Walter Matthau, Laurie Metcalf, Gary Oldman, Joe Pesci, Michael Rooker, Sissy Spacek, Donald Sutherland
It also has a small role from the real Jim Garrison, playing not himself, but Earl Warren. Not a famous actor, but a famous person who acted.
hi, its me rushmore and i though id respond to you post on my 'impressive cast' post here, hope you dont mind.
sorry mate i didnt know, doh! i had no idea you already had 1, do you want me to close mine down?
i will
but ill put a link to this one on mine anyway
How about Love Actually ?
Good one, Merlin. Thanks!
You know, Mars Attacks! may suck, but that only makes it even more amazing that they got so many famous people to be in the damn thing.
When I saw the title of this list I immediately though "God I hope they have PT Anderson films on here." This is a great list.
