Wow, I really like your list here. I haven't seen Blow , Training Day, or Hearts in Atlantis yet, should I?
Also, glad to see James Gandolfini make the list, his performance really impressed me.
Hey, AAA! Thanks for the positive feedback. Blow was decent. Training Day was pretty good. And I liked Hearts in Atlantis quite a bit. If you noticed I've added to this list substantially.
I second enjoying your recognition of Gandofini's performance in an otherwise merely okay movie. His scenes with Julia Roberts make the movie worth renting alone (and are perhaps the only scenes that make the movie worth renting, although I generally enjoy Brad Pitt these days, so that helps).
oooo, Gosford Park! I'm really looking forward to seeing this one (perhaps as soon as tomorrow), I see you liked it. What would you say about it?
Gosford Park is a very, very good film. The screenplay, direction and acting are all uniformly brilliant. It has the best ensemble cast I have ever seen in a movie and the manner in which they all work together is astounding. Every character gets a chance to shine.
You must watch every single frame of the film in an undistracted state to appreciate it. Don't go see it in a theater where people might talk and distract. Don't drink anything which will cause you to get up and leave to use the restroom. Don't sit too far back from the screen so you can catch the multilayered details of this movie, characters in the background, etc.

I'm probably a little bit late with my comment, but I think that Christopher Lee really deserves to be took under consideration for his brilliant supporting performance in 'The Fellowship of the Ring'. ;-)
