Worst Rock Band!

Unfortunately, there are way too many watered-down, overproduced bands making millions in our country. They dominate MTV and popular radio, and are shoved down are throats by marketing teams. As Reel Big Fish have sung "..Radio only plays what they want you to hear. I just don't believe it." Or to quote RATM "Turn on your radio, nah f*ck it, turn it off. Fear is your only god of the radio."
Franz may be on the radio, but their indie roots keep them from being anything near any of the other bands on this list. Wow.
Don't all bands come from Indie roots (before they get signed to a major), unless they are pre-assembled, like a boy band? Can some people say that Creed was Indie before they were on MTV? You make the call.
I'm pretty sure Creed was manufactured, if not in how they were put together, then at least in how their music was made. It doesn't do anything new with the nu-grunge template, at all. It's completely devoid of any originality.
Like Franz or hate them, they have an original sound, and at least keep their music upbeat and danceable (and use real pop hooks): unlike a band like Creed (who think they're uniting the cosmos with their perfectly crafted chords), they don't take themselves seriously, which I think should automatically disqualify them from the list.
I recommend adding Simple Plan and Limp Bizkit.
Franz Ferdinand is pretty good. I don't think they belong on this list. I've rarely heard them played on mainstream radio.
The music isn't horrible, but I'm not sure if I'm really into F.F. Their sound is pretty different, but I don't know if there's any real long-term appeal in it (at least for me).
It seems like they are on mainstream Alternative Rock stations alot in our area. Also, I've seen the video on MTV a few times.
