I think the 60's were better for creating really prolific and consistently great artists (Beatles, Stones, Dylan, The Who, Velvet Underground). The 70's saw a lot more great new artists, but few of them enjoyed the same consistent greatness that those 60's artists did. That said, I did end up voting for the 70's because it created so much great, diverse music. But it's hard to argue with the strength of those 60's artists.
Yeah, tough call. I really like Nirvana, the Gin Blossoms, and lots of 90's punk. I like a lot of 80's music also, like The Smiths, early Cure, New Order, etc.

T.Rex
Abba
Bowie at he's best
Glam rock
Disco

I second that emotion.
Don't neglect Motown. From "Shop Around" to "I Want You Back".
Along with Stax-Volt from "Gee Whiz" to "Who's Making Love" it's all good music.
Sweet soul music.
I actually ended up putting my vote in for the 60's.
Yes, that's right, I voted for the 80s. :-)
I chose 70's, but all of the decades have their charm.

Joni Mitchell
David Bowie
Elvis Costello and the Attractions
