Author Comments:

As far as I know, all of these titles have two things in common:

1) They aren't available on any video format in America, neither do they show up on cable ever, and

2) I would step over my own mother for a chance to see them.

If anyone out there can help me out with any of these titles, I'll be your bestest friend. (I've also got some obscurities that you might be interested in. Who knows?)

I had a chance to see These are the Damned (that's the Losey SF, right?) at the Seattle Art Museum, but blew it. Le sigh.

If you happen to find The Carriers are Waiting, Dallas 362, Deep End, Don's Plum, The Falls or Seven Men From Now, let me know too.

There was a video store in Arcata, CA, that used to carry The Holy Mountain, I'm sure of it...

I happen ... to own copies of both "Sweet Movie" and "The Holy Mountain."

Let me know if you want VHS copies....

It appears that "Dallas 362" is getting a limited release.

Looks like I'll be getting a DVD-r of "Fist in the Pocket" in a few days - still interested in a copy?

You bet. Anything I can get/find/tape/steal for you? I been looking for them shorts, but nothing yet...

"Zabriskie Point" is something I need to see. Oh, and is that Robert Frank's "C--------r Blues" you have in your backlog? Didn't the Stones ban that one?

I can send you a copy of Miike's "Izo" along with the Bellocchio if you like (or, check my movie list if you want something else).

That is indeed the infamous Stones doc in my backlog. My Canadian friend had a copy he was willing to tape for me. Not sure how that would come out if you wanted it (that would be, like, third generation or something) but it'd be worth a try.

As you know, i saw Don's Plum when i was in Spain, a latin movie channel showed it a few months ago, if it gets shown again, i'll try to tape it.

Now Playing: The Who: The Seeker.

Awesome. If you could do that, I would be eternally grateful. Even if the film does well and truly suck, as I seem to remember you saying about it.

Ghosts...of the Civil Dead is an Australian movie. I've never seen it (though I do remember its theatrical release). According to IMDb it is available in the U.S. on VHS.

Well, that's encouraging at least. But I'm not sure I wanna pay eighty bucks for something I haven't seen yet. Maybe eBay can help...

Ooh, I can help again: "Flaming Creatures" can be found at:

http://ubu.wfmu.org/video/Smith-Jack_Flaming-Creatures_1963.avi

If you don't have the ability to d/l it, I can always just make a CD-R and toss it in the same padded envelope as "The Falls" and "The Skywalk Is Gone." Let me know!

You're just a font of useful info, dude. Thanks again!

I can hook you up with DVD-Rs of "Chelsea Girls" and "Finders Keepers, Lovers Weepers", and a VHS of "The World's Greatest Sinner" (it's available, by the way . . . for 30 bucks . . . from the Timothy Carey website).

I'll see if I can dig up any of the others.

Tom

I wasn't even aware Timothy Carey had a website. Shows how little I know.

Drop me a line, and we'll talk shop.

If you can play import dvds, there's an Australian dvd release of Ghosts Of The Civil Dead.

Alas, I don't own a region-free player. I suck.

Satantango will finally be released this fall, and shortly after that under "Very Long Wait" on Netflix for all eternity.

I'd heard about that. Makes me happy, I tell you right...

I see you have listed Cold Water as seen but I don't see it any of your viewing logs. What gives?

Also, Satanatango seems to be making one last go-around in the theatres this fall. If it comes nearby don't miss this chance, I know I won't be.

Cold Water is still stuck in my backlog pipe. I keep telling myself to watch it tonight, but stuff keeps coming up. Blah.

You NEED to watch this. TONIGHT!

Done!

You haven't seen The Attack of the Giant Mousaka? Oh, my, you're totally lagging behind. :)

I know, I know... :-)

But you will be hugely glad once you see it. I mean it's teh movie to brag you've seen it. Especially if you go out for a mousaka with your friends. :D

The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer will be available the 25th June through www.digitalclassicsdvd.co.uk

You can score it out now!

Cool! Thanks for the heads-up!

You can get 'The World's Greatest Sinner' through Absolute Films. Also try www.Theworldsgreatestsinner.com
I have it on VHS. It's well worth it

No it isn't, it's terrible.

I'll find out eventually, won't I though?

I spose, but you might as well download it, as well as most of the films on here.

What makes you think I haven't tried?

You have a point there, but some of them do show up in emule.

And I got a lot of those already. Found several others that are still on this list as well, but seeing as how a lot of stuff on eMule is unsubtitled and I don't speak Swedish/French/Spanish/etc., they're not going to help me out much.

You may want to try Cinemageddon or Karagara if you haven't already.

I haven't. Thanks for the tip.

the Tulse Luper movies are available on Surrealmoviez. (Can't vouch for quality though.)

Just picked 'em up from Karagarga, actually. But thanks for the reminder.
