What I'm Listening to Today: 3/25/04

Cocteau Twins - Treasure - 7:50 A.M. - This is the first time I've ever heard the Cocteau Twins. My, am I completely and utterly stunned! I've recently been interested in goth music and was introduced to them by a friend. I don't know if they are goth or not, but whatever they are, they're brilliant. The female voices seem to be singing in a language of their own. The voices are like an instrument in themselves. The sounds are ethereal and out of this world, haunting and hypnotizing. This is a CD I can easily become addicted to. These are the sirens' voices that tempted Odysseus on his adventure!

Switchblade Symphony - Serpentine Gallery - 4:30 P.M. - Another goth band that a friend recently turned me on to. Great female vocalists. Eerie sounds. Awesome instrument effects.

Note: With all the goth music I've been listening to today, you're probably thinking I'm a "goth chic." Actually, no I'm not. I just enjoy gothic music, books, and movies, but don't live the lifestyle (i.e. always dressing in black). I do have a nice collection of gothic figurines, like little skeletons in coffins and such, but I enjoy these for the horror aspect, since I am a big horror movie fan.
