Musical Discoveries
Firstly, I'd just like to thank most of you guys. For the past month or so. I've been browsing this website and your lists have really helped me find new bands to appreciate.
I've been dissolusioned with today's music, mostly the top 40 crap that's on the radio (Australia has very tight restrictions on it's FM stations, there are no real specialist stations and the 'rock' station ends up playing Eminem.)
These are the albums I've come across in the last few weeks, most of them I hunted down on recommendations from this site.
The Who – Who’s Next
Led Zeppelin – IV
Nirvana – Nevermind
U2 – The Joshua Tree
The Sex Pistols – Never mind the bollocks, here comes the Sex Pistols
Radiohead – Ok Computer (The only album I was majorly dissapointed with. I was extremely bored by most of these songs, maybe I wasn't in the right state of mind when listening to the album. Either way, I'm not too sure what the fuss is about.)
The Clash – London Calling
Def Leppard - The Vault (I like hair rock :O [THERE I admitted it!])
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Here are the albums which I've bought recently by mostly 'unknown' albums, I highly recommend:
Powderfinger – Vulture St.
An Aussie band, it is such a shame that they haven't been exported to the States or the UK. The Who of the 90's (well, maybe not, but check them out anyway)
The Darkness - Permission to Land
I've gotten my hair rock confession out of the way, I just think The Darkness are bringing fun back to music, newer bands seem to do the opposite.
Jet – Get Born
AC/DC meets Rolling Stones meets Led Zeppelin. This album rocks, from beginning to end, it really is something special.
The Living End – Modern Artillery
The Living End are another Aussie band, you'll hear about them pretty soon most likely as they are touring with Blink 182 (ech) and No Doubt (Ech) in America. They are twice as talented as both the bands headlining the tour, hopefully they get the break they deserve.

Dude. Give Ok Computer another listen sometime, it really is amazing! As for Get Born by Jet, I totally agree, it's deluxe.
I gave it a few listens, it just depresses me I guess. It's not the worst album by any means. There are a couple of good songs, no doubt. As an album though, I think the wraps that it has gotten are a little bit extreme.
Alright, the day has come. I listened to OK Computer again and was, this time, mesmorised. Especially the first 5 songs on the track, they are truly superb.
