Toto's Tale by K.D. Hays and Meg Weidman
Submitted by whitneylove on Sun, 12/26/2010 - 10:57A delightful new twist on the old classic The Wizard of Oz. In this tale of munchkins, witches, monkeys, and wolves, Dorothy and Toto are following the yellow brick road. No surprise here. The surprise is that the story is told from Toto's point of view. A Chapter book for children, this book held my interest from cover to cover and the authors (K.D. Hays & Meg Weidman) scored a hit with this one. Highly recommend this book for kids and adults alike.

The Men In And Out Of Her Life
Submitted by whitneylove on Tue, 03/02/2010 - 17:08The Men In And Out Of Her Life is a book I have just read by Evinda Lepins. Lepins states she was motivated to write this piece of fiction from her own true life experiences with hard knocks and issues. Her fictional character, Lacey, is a woman who goes through a divorce, enters the world of dating, makes lots of bad choices and finally, unloads her big trunk of junk (issues). What really moved me about this book, and what I want to share is the sense that we all have our own issues and we can all have the courage to not hide from our messy trunks of junk but rather, face our issues head on.
