You're Nobody in this Town Unless You're Remaking an Asian Movie

It's funny how I'll probably a get a chance to see remakes of the Asian movies I'm interested in before the originals become available. While I currently have Ringu in my queue, I got to the remake first. I'd love to see Infernal Affairs, but I'll probably be able to catch the Scorsese remake first, especially since it looks like Harvey is going to park his substantial hindquarters on the original. I think I do have a shot of catching Ju-on before The Grudge, but actually both look great, and they are directed by the same guy. I wonder if this is a frustrating time for Asian film nuts, what with everybody jumping on the bandwagon? It's always a bittersweet moment when your previously undiscovered gems hit the mainstream.
