In new upcoming DVD news, we've confirmed with A&E that they'll release Homicide: Life on the Street - The Complete First and Second Seasons on DVD on 5/27. Watch for an official announcement soon.

Well, at the very least, Jim and I are thrilled!

Alright, speaking of boxed sets, I'm currently watching the first three seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have only one question:

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!

One of the single best TV shows I've ever seen. I don't know if anyone here is a Buffy fan, but I must say that some of the episodes must be the best network TV of the past decade. The Body (which is in the 6th season) is one of the flat-out best things I've ever seen. Oh, and the two-part episode in season two (Innocence) is so heart-breaking it's astounding.
So, anyone in the listology-verse a Buffy watcher?

I enjoy Buffy, but you need to talk to Johnny Waco; he tried in vain to convert me for awhile, but now, the disease is in me!

Shalom, y'all!

We here in Maryland consider Homicide to be one of the great accomplishments that our state has ever had. I, naturally, am thrilled, as are my parents, and aunt, and friends, and friends' parents, and...

Hmm, I'm a Marylander and I've never even seen the show. I'll have to check out that DVD.

Cool, I didn't know you were a Homicide man, AAA! Wasn't it great? I think the parts I'm looking forward to watching again the most is all Crosetti's Lincoln assassination obsession stuff. Or Bolander nagging Munch: "Inpector Munch. InSPECtor. Munch." Or the entire episode in the box. Or listening to Yaphet Kotto speak. Or...

Boy, I hope all that stuff happens in the first two seasons!

The Adena Watson case. Phew!

I remember not being too terribly impressed with the first few episodes of the show, but once the Box episode concerning Watson aired, the show was off and running, only to slow down in the last season.

Easily the best television show of the 90s, and that says a hell of a lot.

Shalom, y'all!

Wow! I never thought I'd see the day! Wonderful news! I'm geek enough to mark that day on my calendar. :-) Thanks so much for the news!
