While it probably makes everybody else cringe, I not-so-secretly rejoice every time I can add something to my Guilty Pleasures list. In this case, I've added Deep Blue Sea. Why, with the at-times painful dialog and gratuitous violence (including a twitching freshly detached leg)? Because there's a scene that is at least as good as the lawyer getter snatched off the toilet in Jurassic Park, and because after that scene kinda jars you out of your expectations of the conventional, the tension is pretty darn good. And I found myself hoping that at least LL Cool J would get out alive.
