Well, since Jim has been over-indulging in the joy juice during the holiday (sure, he'll give us some other story), I'll step in with a bit of blatant self-promotion. Here's a list of first lines that participants in my Challenge List should find interesting. You'll note that a few of the quotes are common to both lists, but I swear it's sheer coincidence. In my opinion, not many of the First Lines are all that great anyway.
