Well, it's a list, so I'll link to it. But am I the only one that find's the People's Choice Nominees and Winners completely uninspiring?

remember also, most people are lemmings............
The People's Choice Awards are the only kind of award that people like Adam Sandler can win. It's completely meaningless, used more as a gauge to determine who are the most popular performers at the moment, not the most talented. Believe me, you'd never see Phillip Seymour Hoffman or John C. Reilly nominated for 'Favorite Movie Actor'. Julia Roberts will win this award for the next fifty years--doesn't mean she's a good actress.
I don't think much of "People's Choice" awards -- you wind up with 100 votes for McDonald's and 1 vote each for 100 places that are much better, but not as big or well known.
In this instance, you have a similar problem wherein everyone votes for the big-name, big-label stars, and ignores the less-financially-successful, but much better ones.
Some specific comments: I do like Calista Flockhart (and Ally McBeal,) but I think there isn't much competition. (And what little there is, is on the same show.) Meanwhile, Drew Carey sucks. And that's being nice.
The Backstreet Boys are pretty stupid, but so is most of the mainstream musical world these days. Side note: Alabama has been a top-notch, and award-winning band for eons, it seems. I don't know if the "people" were able to add write-in candidates, but I think if I had to pick one of Ricky Martin, Kid Rock, or Will Smith as my favorite Male Musical Performer, I'd shoot myself.
I'm surprised at Big Daddy; Austin Powers wasn't as good as the original, I thought, but still better. A lot of the problem comes, I think, from a dearth of good movies and music in the mainstream market -- which is why I'm really happy about the internet and sites like mp3.com.
I hear ya. It's lists like this that prompted me to put up this site. Far more useful to find a specific individual of similar tastes rather than relying on some averaged-out watered-down collection of mass opinion. Although such lists can be a ton of fun, I don't usually find them particular useful.
