Waste Anyone?

I'm curious to know if any Listologists are familiar with Waste. I've not used it yet but I've heard good things. Would anyone be interested in setting up a Listology Waste group with me?

I'm not really sure what it is. Is it kinda like Groove? I'm outta here for a few days, and then I'll be swamped when I return (sadly).

I guess you could compare it to Groove. But Groove had a fairly large footprint in memory and I'm assuming WASTE will be relatively small.

WASTE was written by Justin Frankel, the same programmer who wrote WinAmp. He released WASTE (with source code) underneath the Nullsoft banner and within a day or two it was yanked by AOL and Justin ended up leaving the company because they were retarding his creativity. Luckily WASTE was released just long enough to get copied by a bunch of people and turned into an open source development project.

I just thought it would be nice for we broadband users to be able to share a non-copyrighted file here and there.

for sure... i keep wanting to try waste... but none of my friends are up to it... and it seems like a natural extension of listology to share music, video, etc. cool :)

I'll see if I can figure out how it works tonight after work. The instructions on this page seem pretty simple. If it works as expected I'll send you my Public Key via the e-mail link on your Listology profile and you can do the same for me.
