X-Men 3 trailer. Hmm. Is it possible Brett Ratner didn't screw up the franchise?

Luke's X3 Forecast Mini-Review:

Even more than its predecessors, X3 is an adolescent orgy of destruction, sex, and power fantasies sure to give willing viewers a rollicking good time before returning them to a world that will again seem a little duller and uglier. Fans worried about Ratner replacing Singer at the helm, but with a competant script, big-budget effects and series momentum, it's clear the director is of minor consequence by now. X-Men newbies beware: the bewildering array of characters and plotlines herein may confound even those who can follow The Sopranos.

Sex? I remember the X movies being pretty sexless.

By that I suppose you mean there weren't scenes of graphic intercourse. But the X movies are stuffed with sex! (Most movies and hit TV shows are.)

Nah, I still disagree. The X movies are about as stuffed with sex as the Star Trek shows (starting with Next Generation). Unless we're counting the X-Men comics -- then I concede.

"Competent script" being the lynchpin, I imagine.
