Trailerology: Spider-Man 3

What the heck, everybody else is doing it, why not me? Here's the teaser for Spider-Man 3. I wonder what proportion of trailers I link to are superhero movies? I don't wonder enough to actually check it out, just musing out loud...

Maybe with all those villains there won't be time for soap opera scenes and lectures on responsibility from Aunt May. This might be the first Spider-Man movie I like, but I said that about #2, too.

"3," just like X-Men 2 was X2. Coincidence, or just slick? I wonder if "3" is what they are going to call it, or if it is like that "6-6-6" advert for The Omen.

Yup, this is pretty much the most amazing teaser I've ever seen. I am totally stoked and on-board for this. The symbiote, Sandman, Topher Grace actually being creepy...all awesome.

By the by, Jim, I saw Superman Returns and was decidedly unimpressed. I liked X3 better; I wonder how this bodes for out bet? ;-)

What it bodes is this: the best I can hope for is a tie! Dang, I was so sure, too.

FWIW, I liked Superman Returns alot better than X-Men 3. My recommendation is to go into Superman Returns with an open mind and try to not to develop any preconceptions about it. Since you've been enjoying the pre-teen girly flicks lately I don't think you'll have too much of a problem getting into it. It also fixed in my mind the fact that Bryan Singer is a much better director then Rhett Bratner.

Ha! Thanks for my first laugh of the morning.

Unfortunately, looks like I'm going to have to wait for DVD on both before this bet is finally decided.

Well, it's not a bad movie, I just found it very boring and plain.

The title of Ebert's review says it all:

"Atlas yawned."
