Ridley Scott tackles the crusades in Kingdom of Heaven. « via Movie City News »

is anyone else getting sick of the same exact movie being redone the same exact way with the same landscapes and the same majestic speeches and the same ridiculously unrealistic dialogue and the terrible acting and all the other stuff that comes along with it... these all look exactly the same... troy, alexander, and now this.

Yeah, if I had a nickle for every time I've heard that Braveheart speech I have at least two bits by now.

haha... don't want to make you feel old or anything... but how much is two bits?

either way i get what your saying

I think it's a quarter, but I'm not sure. Maybe fifty cents?

The Kingdom of Heaven trailer is not very dialup-friendly. Anyone want to comment on their reactions to it?

It looks better than Troy or Alexander, and it has a good cast. Not sure about the wisdom of telling a Christians vs. Muslims story at this particular time, but we'll see how they handle it.

I'm pretty sure it's the perfect tiem for such a tale, box-office and buzz-wise.

Why? I'm pretty sure every other swords-and-sandals epic trotted out recently has been a disappointment one way or another.

No, no - with regards to Christianity vs. Islam. Tension has hardly been higher in the past 100 years, so more people will talk about a film set during the Crusades now than any other time. More people talk, more people hear, more people see.

Speaking of trailers, Twitch has a roundup of a bunch that will likely suck, but might surprise (okay, some are lost causes).
