Is There Nothing Ken Jennings Can't Do?

Not only would Ken Jennings mop the floor with me in any hypothetical game of Jeopardy, but he can also smoke me on my home court: making movie lists. « via kottke.org »

BUT.....you're the better Zhang Yimou fan and I've got him on Kurosawa. River Kwai over Throne Of Blood??? Not in this universe!!

Good point! I can definitely handle him when it comes to a single director, chosen by me. And he is off his rocker to not have Raise the Red Lantern or To Live in his top 10 for their respective years. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume they are both #11. :-)

Heh. While there's certainly much to argue over (for example, the misguided notion that "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" is better than "Harold and Maude", or "The Man Who Would Be King" better than "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", or (ugh) "The Lady Vanishes" better than "Bringing Up Baby"), these do look like pretty solid lists, for the most part. But I'm sure Jennings isn't as good a movie reviewer as you are, Jim. :-)

Well... who knows, but Jennings didn't give us LISTOLOGY. :-)
