Wow, it looks like Robert Rodriguez is doing a great job of capturing the look (shots one, two, and three) of Sin City. The shot of Marv covered with little band-aids looks like it's straight out of the graphic novel. « via Twitch »
Actually, with the notable exception of the bandaid Marv shot, it looks like a slightly stlyized B&W film, not like the Sin City comics. To look like Sin City, it'd have to be just black and white, not grayscale, and have some kind of effect applied to it, like they did with Waking Life, or a Photoshop cutout-esque-filter applied.
Still can't wait to see the movie, though. And I'd rather see what I see in those shots than an animated film, anyway.
Yeah, I didn't mean it looked like an animated movie (it is live-action after all). I was talking about the composition of the frames, which look ripped straight from Miller's pages. Almost like they used the graphic novel as storyboards.
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see some actual footage from the movie (in a trailer or whatever) to see what approach they'll take with the movie in motion.

More shots have turned up.
That link goes to an I Heart Huckabees page. Is that intentional?
No. Whoops. More shots turned up at Joblo immediately after the first batch, that's what I tried to link to.
Let's just hope everything as holds up as well as the look does!
