I thought Listology members might enjoy this (or hate it) and it might stir up some discussion:
One Hundred Albums You Should Remove from Your Collection Immediately

Truth is, most of those albums do suck, and I've managed thankfully to rid myself of a few of these. But his critique on Coltrane was way off the mark.
Well I must say that when people list albums I have never heard of most of them. So I have hardly any of the cds/albums listed on the best lists. On the worst list I faired no better. So I guess I am just in the middle of the road being average. Should I watch for steamrollers?
Now that was hilarious. All that U2 bashing makes up for some of the other silliness.
I wish I had written this.
"Oh, to be earnest, politically correct, Christian, and filthy rich. It's been 15 years since the birth of this critical and popular favorite, and U2-worship still hasn't been eradicated. When will it stop? When you do the right thing and retire this pompous collection of religious rock songs, that's when. "
thanks for posting this... i own (and like) a ton of these, but the list is so well written that even the controversial ones make you laugh your butt off.
This listing is lots of fun and mostly right-on, if you ignore the uninformed comments about "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (overproduced? Pulleeez! Try innovative, concept-driven) and "The Who" (which they complain is 'so last century' because, DUH, it was last century). Otherwise, lots of food for thought.
