Pixar Gets Wired (as if they weren't already)

Why, after a string of critical and box office failures, Pixar gets the cover treatment from Wired Magazine, I'll never know. Still, maybe The Incredibles will break their unprecedented streak of stinkers:

Bird [who also directed the fabulous The Iron Giant] is asking a lot. "The knees of Pixar are trembling under the weight of my ignorance," he says, sitting in a lawn chair on Pixar's rolling, 16-acre grounds in Emeryville, California. "If you were to list the 20 hardest things to do in CG, I ordered double portions of all of them: hair, hair underwater, fire, explosions, humans, human clothing, clothing falling through the air," he says. "I was told by some that what I wanted was impossible, that it would cost 10 gazillion dollars and take 10 years. Fortunately there was another group that said: Bring it on."

Alright, ya got me. Pixar rocks, and I can't wait for The Incredibles. « via Tagline »

Huhwhuh? I've never associated Pixar with any critical and box office failures, myself. Which recent Pixar movies flopped?

I think it was sarcastic.

Yes, I suppose that would be the most logical explanation. I was really scratching my head over that one... (sheepish grin)

My bad. Should have included a smiley or something. I thought the "ya got me" at the very end might have been a tip-off, but it was pretty far away from the sarcasm.

:D

It's okay, I understand. It's difficult to detect sometimes, when it's in writing and all. Sometimes I can't tell if my IM conversations are all ironic or just upsettingly strange.
