The Ox-Bow Conspiracy

Guess who added The Ox-Bow Incident back into their inventory this week?

Funny you should post that. I just got my copy from Greencine today and watched it tonight. Great film. Powerful without being heavy-handed. The DVD's pretty good quality as well with a few good extras including a commentary track by director Wellman's son and the A&E Biography of Fonda. I can finally add this one to my list of the ones of the 1001 you need to see before you die.

Ha! I love those coincidences. dgeiser13 made particular note of this movie as Netflix not carrying it had turned into a running joke of mine.

Ah, good news! Now, where the fuck is Murnau's Sunrise? :-)

They don't have Sunrise?

Wow...

Shalom, y'all!

The thing is, Sunrise has not been officially released yet. 20th Century Fox offered it as a freebie for buying some of their studio classics, and they included it in some box set as well, but for some reason they have not released it for general consumption. I don't know why they haven't released this masterpiece on DVD yet though. I guess there just aren't enough cinephiles in the world.

Sunrise is available on DVD in a box set. Check it out! I'd say that $24 is a small price to pay.

Greencine has it, so I'm not going to let Netflix off that easy :-)

Anyone else having a hard time putting it into their queue? It says its there, but it ain't there. Interesting....Never mind. It's there now. Took about 15 minutes, though.

I think they're having problems synchronizing their Web site with the database, since they are in the middle of implementing the new design. I've seen other weirdness. They had The Maltese Falcon in the "at home" section and in my regular queue at the same time for a few hours. It also goes back and forth between the new and old designs periodically.
