Somebody stop me! More new features . . . The poll graph bars now size better. Also, there's a new "results by user" button so you can see who voted for what.
I do too (that's why I did it :-), but in hindsight it was definitely poor judgement on my part to offer an anonymous service and then rip that anonymity away without warning. Won't happen again!
As for bringing it back, LBangs (and anybody else), what do you think of this: I'll create a new system preference "Check here to make my poll votes anonymous" and everybody will be checked by default. Then I'll reinstate the feature and only folks that uncheck that box will be included in the "results by user"?
Alrighty, it's disabled! My apologies for not putting out feelers in advance! I do think I mentioned the possibility of this feature quite awhile ago (possibly more than a year) and I didn't recall any objections, so I just forged ahead. Not that that means anything; not everybody sees every little scrap of information that flows through this site like I do.
Anyway, it's off for now, pending further discussion. One possibility for bringing it back would be to add a "keep my poll votes anonymous" system preference. That's just a knee-jerk reaction, but how's that grab you?
I'm not necessarily against the concept - I just would consider voting on each individual poll before hitting the 'vote' button knowing that the tally was public information.
I did consider that vs. Listology's essential mission of helping people find other folks of similar tastes. I was a bit worried about it, actually. If it helps, I'd be happy to purge anybodys votes from the system. Just drop me an e-mail or post to this thread.
:( Er, could you purge my votes?
Thanks!

I'd rather disable the feature! I'll get right on that, and then think about this some more.
When you get the whim to bring it back, I sort of liked the idea...

Sounds good to me, too. Just let me know where the System Preference will be so I can turn it on. :-)
That sounds great to me!

Again, sorry 'bout that!
Whoops! I didn't mean to be the party pooper!

Not at all! See my reply to dgeiser13 below...
Gasp! This renounces the fundamental system of American democracy, revoking the secret ballot! This could only lead to turmoil and anarchy!
Eh. Oh well.

I was just kidding with you. The value of this feature should outweigh any concern you have.
And ya know, I've always wanted to know the results by user of Infomaniac's WWYD series... :-)
