My Name is Bruce Promo-Tour
For those of you not in the know (which included me until yesterday) as of 10/26 Bruce Campbell is personally taking his new film My Name is Bruce on tour to an assortment of cities across the U.S.
"Hey, folks, here are the tour dates and venues for My Name is Bruce. Barring union strikes, hurricanes, flat tires or diptheria, I will be personally appearing at each of these cities to introduce the film and do a spirited Q&A afterward. Please bear in mind, this isn't a "signing," so I recommend that the only thing you bring is your smiling face. I will be doing the 3 major show every day - roughly the 7:00, 9:30 and midnight screenings I look forward to seeing you all there!"
His official web site has more info. For the record he's going to be swinging through my neck of the woods, Columbus, Ohio, on November 19th. He is selling ticket through MovieTickets.com and the price is currently listed at $9.50. Introduction to the film, the film itself, and Q&A after the film for $9.50? I am so there.

Columbus is but a few hours from where I live...and I would love to go, but unfortunately, it does not look likely.
And honestly, the quality--or lack thereof--of the movie doesn't matter to me in the slightest. Almost every movie Bruce Campbell makes is terrible, but he himself is something of a god.
CaptMal, where do you live?
Akron, Ohio.
(Represent!)
Jeez. That's not too far at all. I can't believe Toledo got a showing and not Cleveland. If you're familiar with Columbus the showing of MNIB is going to be at the Gateway cinemas across from OSU South Campus. If for some reason you change your mind let me know! I haven't 100% decided to go yet as it's a Wednesday night and I may be working.
Yeah, if it were in Cleveland, I would definitely be going. But as it is, my chances are not looking particularly rosy.
I will be seeing this, but I should point out that "My Name is Bruce" is getting "generally negative reviews."
Thanks for pointing that out. To tell you the truth I hadn't really considered the quality of the film. I figured if it was at worst some b-movie goodness then things would be alright. I guess I've seen so many cheesy horror films at the Columbus horror marathons that I wasn't expecting a lot. It's only got 13% so far on Rotten Tomatoes but the one reviewer that did like it was from Cinematical so that's something.
At the same time, it has a 7.9 on the IMDB. Which may mean it's the ultimate people's choice film, or it may mean the only people who've seen it on the IMDB are raging Bruce Campbell fans.
