Movie Club (aka Movie Discussion Group) Anyone!

For those Listologs who are unaware of this, some of our more inrepid members are in the process of putting together a Listology book club, of sorts. If you are interested in particpating in something like, go ahead and vote on April's book club choice! They need interested parties.
On a related note I was interesed in knowing if some amongst us would like to participate in a similar project by forming a Movie Club instead. Every X weeks (2 or 4) we'd choose one movie that all participating parties would be interested in seeing then we could watch the movie individually and get together and talk about it. I think I could really get into this idea! Any takers?
OK! Not bad...we whittled our 41 nominees down to 14 for the final ballot. Hopefully we will be able to get a majority out of this. If not we'll take the few highest vote getters and watch those over a few weeks. Here is the final ballot.
OK, I have a created an LMC (Listology Movie Club) Home Article.
Anyone who is interested can take a look at this to see where we are in the nomination, voting, watching or discussion process for any film in any given week. I looked the schedule over a few times and I think it makes sense.
I'm going to go ahead and create a nominations list for the first selection of the LMC and link to it from the home article.
OK! So far we have 3 positives (dgeiser1, jblack, sebreg) and 1 maybe (kbuxton). I'd really like to see more participants than that. What do you guys think?
I'd be interested. Depends mostly on how many movies a month you are thinking. :) I have to make sure I have enough time to read the book club book of the month. :)
buber, what i'm thinking is 1 or 2 a month. which would be every one every 2 weeks or one every 4 weeks depending on how the groups decides.
By weekly is what I like. That sounds good.

Yeah..every two weeks. I'm unclear as to where you want us to see these. Movie rentals or theatrical Releases? And also, I think we should really get going on this Dan. Lets do it. Video or theatre?
Jeff, I'm pretty sure we'll have to go with video releases. I'm fine with doing it. Hopefully more people will participate as time goes on.

I haven't been watching that many movies lately, but I might be up for this...
yeah, i don't want to go too overboard and force people out of their groove who might otherwise participate. i'll just wait and see how many people are interested and from there we can see what the optimal viewing period is for a movie.
once we have that nailed down all participants can nominate movies and we'll vote and go from there. obviously we want to stick with movies that everyone can see.
so no movies like Forbidden Zone. BTW has anyone seen that besides me? that movie is a trip.
