Lists of Bests

I found a new list-oriented web site called Lists of Bests. I haven't had time to explore it much yet to figure out whether it's a direct competitor to Listology but my initial impression is that it isn't. Any thoughts?

Seems like a pretty cool site (I just sent an e-mail to the guy complimenting him)! I don't think we're direct competitors. That's my first impression, anyway.

He has linked back on his news page, http://listsofbests.com/?page=news.

I've been exploring his site and I really like it! I thought that even before he linked back to Listology. :-)

I checked it out. It's not really a competitor to Listology because it's not trying to accomplish the same things. Lists of Bests is just a site containing many different "official" lists of great movies, books, and music. I think you can post lists yourself (or "collections") but that's not the focus of the site. In fact, I can't figure out how to post a "collection." The main focus is to provide a place where you can keep track of how many books, movies, or albums you've read, seen, or heard on certain "Best of" lists. Lists of Bests and Listology could easily go hand in hand because each exists to accomplish different goals.

P.S. Lists of Bests also has some kinks to work out. Many times have I entered movies I've seen only to have the movies not show up when I looked at the list again. I've been logged out against my will twice already, and I've only been on the site for about 20 minutes.

I have a feeling that the site is scant days old so I'd give him some leeway in working out the bugs. :-)
