Listology Colocation Server for Sale

Tags:

Since Listology is now at a shared host rather than being colocated, the server it used to run on is now for sale. Proceeds from the sale will be used to pay the new ISP and keep Listology going. I'll post details below.

The computer is a VA Linux machine, and at the time they touted their top-notch components and Linux-friendliness (but I'm sure it won't have any problem running Windows :-). Here are the specs:

  • One Intel Pentium II 350Mhz CPU with 512K ECC L2 cache (with fans)

  • Medium tower ATX case
  • Teac 1.44MB floppy drive
  • Tyan S1832DL motherboard
  • One 16x72 100MHz ECC SDRAM module for 128MB of RAM
  • Matrox Millenium G200 8MB AGP video card
  • Quantum QM304550PX 4.5G Viking-II ultra-2 SCSI disk
  • Symbios 8951U ultra-2 SCSI controller
  • Intel EtherExpress Pro/100+ 10/100Mbps ethernet card (RJ-45)
  • Panasonic CR588B 32x IDE CD-ROM
  • Keytronic KB101+C keyboard
  • PS/2 style keyboard adapter
  • Logitech PS/2 3-button mouse
  • TrippLite Omnismart 675 uninterruptible power supply
  • UPS to system cable
  • Symbios 810 SCSI card

It ran Listology for almost two years without a hiccup. It was honorably discharged when I switched to a shared host.

It has Linux installed with a pile of Linux software, but it doesn't come with Windows or any Windows applications.

On 2/1/99 I paid $2,573 for the machine described above. I also have a 15" Panasonic Panasync E50 monitor available separately. I paid $174.91 for it. Make me an offer for one or both!

E-mail questions and offers to webmaster@listology.com.

    Thanks!
