Listology Blurb in the NY Times!
Listology snuck into the New York Times on the coattails of Lists of Bests! I even got quoted! Upon re-reading it, I kinda cringe (it was a response to the question, "what do people love about lists?"). I certainly should have used the colloquial "your" rather than the emotionally-removed "one's", but what can I say, I froze in the headlights. Anyway, woo-hoo!
Oh, I've since taken the occassion to revisit Lists of Bests, and I'm hooked. I signed up (as "jim" - I love getting in early) and have been going through all the movie lists and checking off what I've seen. So far I've seen 262 of the 713 movies represented on the 13 lists he has loaded. I love that when you check off a movie on one list, it's automatically checked off on any other lists in which it appears.

Very impressive! A mention in the Ol' Gray Lady. That is a mighty deep notch for your belt!
Shalom, y'all!

:-) Thanks!
Whoa, I'm only 230 for 713. My album total isn't too impressive either: 35 for 630. My book total is so utterly embarrassing, I'd prefer not to share it...
My book total is pretty embarrassing too, although I haven't gone through all the lists (not that I expect it to get much better). I haven't done CDs yet.
Good for you, Jim! Do you really think that was on List of Bests coattails? It seemed like they just lumped them into the List Lovers category. In this weblog-crazed society I'm sure if you were just starting out you would've seen as much play as List of Bests did. Perhaps that explains some of the new faces I've been seeing on here lately?
Thanks! And yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how it went. The columnist mentioned that she found Listology via the link Bill graciously put on his site. I think she was researching his site, and as a result found mine. How she found him in the first place is what I'm really wondering!
I'm not sure how she found my site. I think the day of or the day after I put made the site live, someone linked it at metafilter.com, and I _think_ she mentioned metafilter during the interview, but I'm not sure if she said exactly how she found it.
Great to have you here Bill! Since you've now gotten me addicted to your site, I hope I can add a similar monkey to your back. :-) As if I weren't spending enough time on lists every day!
