I'm not a big fan of David Lynch's Dune but I've enjoyed most of Lynch's other work. I am however a big fan of Alejandro Jodorowsky so reading a blog entry about the Dune that never was (with relevant links) makes me want to jump into that alternative universe where it actually was made.
"The idea that 1984's sci-fi epic/cash-sucking black hole Dune starred Sting and was scored by Toto when it could have involved Alejandro Jodorowsky (Santa Sangre, El Topo, Holy Mountain), Salvador Dali, H.R. Giger, and scoring by Magma is one of the best reasons for cinephiles to thud their heads repeatedly against hard surfaces and curse the Hollywood machine." (via Beware of the Blog)
