jgandcag Update

Tags:

Hi folks,

As many of you know, jgandcag (Jim) and his wife left for Russia on September 11th to finally adopt their daughter, Cara. On the 25th the adoption became official. Subsequently, Cara became quite sick (she is now doing much better) and in the process of treating her they discovered that there are more complications. This in itself is shocking and upsetting news, and is worsened by the bureaucratic limbo they are all in now: Cara cannot get an entry visa to the US without a medical waiver, the obtaining of which can take six weeks or longer. Jim's wife Claudette is still in Russia with Cara, and Jim is here working to bring them both home.

Please send your thoughts and prayers their way.

Thank you all for the kind words. She has a way of making everything in her life her own. A quality I hope she posseses for the rest of her life.....

Just as a further update. I thought a few of you might like to see the reason I have not been on the site too much lately.

Click on my profile and you can see my lovely daughter and the road to ruin I am leading her down...

Enjoy...

Dang, I was just about to ask you if you were ever going to post a photo, and then you preemptively obliged me, but unfortunately it's not showing up for me! I tried copying the URL of the photo to access it directly, but that doesn't work either. Yahoo throws a "forbidden" error. Perhaps that URL only works for you, the owner/uploader of the photo, and is not a public link?

Jim, I forget that Yahoo sucks. I put it up in a different locale. let me know how this one works....

Oh my, I've been looking for that remote for months now!

She is as cute as possible. Congrats.

Shalom, y'all!

That remote is a piece of art. Controls everything in my high tech room. Of course the fact that my daughter probably knows how to use it better than my wife is only an added benefit.

Your Congrats are very much appreciated

I actually do have that exact same remote.

I'm thrilled all worked out. For the next few years, you'll be glad you don't sleep much anyway. :)

Shalom, y'all!

Works great! Cara is beautiful. :-) You ain't ever getting that remote away from her though, I bet.

Congrats.:)

It works! Cara is so adorable. Congrats again, jgandcag, and thanks for posting the picture.

Thank you all for the support shown here and from other parts of my life. Sometimes there is an awness to being a human being that can only be appreciated in times of great crisis.

I am happy to report that it is much easier to appreciate these things with a sleeping healthy wife and sleeping healthy baby in the other room of our house. They arrived from Russia today just before 1pm eastern standard time and little Cara has already started her devious plan to gain complete control of the family compound we live in. There does not seem to be a lot of resistance to her nefarious plot.

:-) Wonderful! I'm so happy to hear your adoption is finally, finally official, and everybody is home safe and sound. Congratulations, and welcome home to Cara (and Claudette too, of course)!

Oh, by the way, in my experience resistance is futile anyway.

Wow. Congratulations. I'm very happy the drawn-out wait is over and that the ending is a happy one. Enjoy every moment.

Oh, and welcome back. I've missed you.

Shalom, y'all!

Congratulations! It must be such a relief to have both your wife and daughter at home. I hope you know what a great thing it is you're doing, jgandcag!

Alright!!! Congratulations, jgandcag! I'm so glad to hear your entire family is back where you should be and that everyone is doing well!

That's horrible! My best thoughts are with them.

Jeez... let's hope they make a speedy return to America and begin their new life the right way.

In high school I worked part-time at a Chick-fil-A. My boss and his wife also went to Russia to adopt, bringing back a curious and bright blonde bundle named Lexi. Every so often, her mom would bring her in, and she would light up the day crew's faces. I'll continue to pray for Jim and his wife. They're doing a wonderful thing.

Ugh!

They're certainly in my thoughts. Here's hoping they're home soon.

Shalom, y'all!
