I'm going to assume Galaxy Quest appears on so few lists because y'all have been waiting for the rental. Well, it should be at a video store near you now, and I definitely recommend checking it out. Tons of fun.
Yes, he's come a long way since his wooden debut in Home Improvement, hasn't he? But my favorite was Alan Rickman, whose "Thor's hammer" dialogue was wickedly, sardonically funny. And how about the pathos of these past-their-prime actors opening shopping centers?? Puts me in mind of how old and rickety some of the original Trek actors looked in the final few big-screen films.
I enjoyed the film. I was mostly surprised by Tim Allen.

I haven't seen it yet, but based on the recommendations here, we picked it up on DVD. I'll chip in as soon as I've had a chance to watch it.
I agree, Galaxy Quest was a really truly surprisingly good movie. I saw it in the theatres, and I'm gonna rent it soon too. :)
