I'm about halfway through Last Call by Tim Powers, and I'm really enjoying it. Dark broad-sweeping modern fantasy. If the second half lives up to the promise of the first, I'll certainly add it to this list. I liked The Anubis Gates too (so many threads that he managed to tie together to my satisfaction). So has anybody read Expiration Date? Is it as good?

Expiration Date was good but not as good. Earthquake Weather (the third in the series) was even a bit less good but still reasonably enjoyable.
I just finished Last Call, and definitely found it list-worthy. I got a little impatient toward the end ("finish it, already!"), but in general thought it was very well done and entertaining. It wasn't quite the balancing act Anubis Gates was, though, which I prefer by a little bit. How would you rank the Powers books you've read? If Anubis Gates and Last Call are your top two, I'll probably skip the others.
They would be the top two, but some of his more obscure stuff was quite interesting as well.
Expiration Date and Earthquake Weather would be near the bottom. Dinner at Deviant's Palace was good but very different than the others. (a post-apocolyptic LA story). The Drawing of the Dark and
The Stress of Her Regard are more historical (though not like Anubis Gates).
I have yet to read Forsake the Sky and On Stranger Tides.
