Someone has spent a lot of time creating this nice, impressive list of Historical Movies in Chronological Order. Not the chronology in which the films were made but the chronological order in which the dramatized historical events occured.

Fascinating list; I appreciate the fact that the list includes comedies and B Movies (1,000,000 Years B.C., anyone?) as well as "serious" historical films. This gives a more accurate and enjoyable overview of film history.
The idea of a origins of the universe and humanity section is pretty clever as well...

i guess i never understood what movies aren't historic? it's all ridiculous, calling some historic, makes no sense.
Star Wars isn't historic. Meet the Fockers isn't historic. I don't think it's ridiculous at all.
it just doesn't make sense to arbitrarily decide whether a film is historic or not... meet the fockers isn't any more ficticious or fantastic than hamlet is... there just set in different time periods.
Impressive indeed, and just begging for a chronological category on the potential future of mankind. From Fritz Lang to Stanley Kubrick to Steven Spielberg and beyond.
